Sanding

For sanding, you can use tools for sanding wood and other surfaces, such as vibrating sanders, disc or orbital sanders including attachments for drills and angle grinders, or hand or stationary belt sanders.

An oscillating multi-tool with grinding attachments is also suitable for our materials.

Matting In order to get a matte surface, you should follow these instructions:

  1. Take a sanding disc (recommend grit 1000 Mirka Abranet) and sand with a circular motion. We also recommend you use an interface pad for easier sanding.
  2. The recommended speed on the sander is +-12000 rpm.
  3. Hold the sander so that the sanding disc is parallel to the panel.
  4. After sanding you can remove dust with airflow and wipe the surface with microfibre (or a soft cloth that does not scratch the panel).
  5. After wiping with a microfibre cloth we recommend you use a lambswool pad.

Polishing (Glossy) In order to get a glossy surface in dark patterns, you should follow the instructions below:

  1. Take a polishing pad (we recommend using a very hard one) and moisten it well with water (the polishing pad will dry during polishing, so make sure you have enough water in it).
  2. Put a little polishing wax on the polishing pad (or on the panel).
  3. It is necessary to start polishing with a low speed (600rpm) on the polisher, gradually moving to higher speeds (2200rpm).
  4. Polish with a circular motion.
  5. Hold the polisher so that the polishing pad is parallel to the panel.
  6. After polishing, wipe the surface with microfibre (or a soft cloth that does not scratch the panel).
  7. After wiping with a microfibre cloth, we recommend you use a lambswool pad.

We do not recommend you sand dark patterns, but if any scratches are not removed by polishing, sand them using sanding discs (Mirka Abranet) with a fine grit of 600–1000. The speed on the sander should be adjusted from lower to higher.

We recommend you use an interface pad for easier sanding. After sanding, polish the sanded area, then wipe the surface with microfibre and a lambswool pad.
