Polygood is a durable, versatile surface used in retail, countertops, wall cladding, and furniture, both commercial and residential. Cleaning needs vary by application, pattern, and finish.
Polygood comes in three finishes: glossy, matte, and satin. Some care guidelines apply to all, while others are finish-specific.
✅ Routine cleaning
Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth and mild, pH-neutral multi-surface or glass cleaner (e.g., LiquidSense™, Insta-Use™, KAY®, ECOLAB®, Diversey™, Method®, Seventh Generation®). Always test cleaners on a hidden area.
❌ Avoid
- Harsh solvents: acetone, thinners, alcohol (>70%), bleach, ammonia
- Acidic cleaners: vinegar, citric acid, limescale removers
- Abrasive tools: scouring pads, steel wool, scrapers
- High-pressure or steam cleaning
✅ Grease removal
Mild degreasers safe for plastics (e.g., LiquidSense™ Heavy Duty, ECOLAB®, Diversey™) or diluted dish soap.
✨ Care by Finish
- Glossy finish → Good stain-resistance; wipe spills promptly. For dullness or fine scratches, use plastic-safe polishes (e.g., Novus®, Plexus®) with soft cloths, following product instructions.
- Matte finish → Hard, good stain-resistance, ready-to-use finish. Persistent stains may require light buffing — but buffing will smooth the texture and shift the appearance to satin. Buff the entire surface for consistency.
- Satin finish → More sensitive to staining; may need occasional light buffing to restore uniformity.
